Cytology 2010, 16-20th May, EICC, Edinburgh, Scotland

Scientific Programme

The scientific programme will highlight contemporary and future developments in screening and diagnostic cytology, including invited lectures, symposia and workshops from internationally recognised experts.

For example

  • Cervical cancer vaccine
  • HPV in cervical screening
  • The impact of HPV vaccines on cervical cancer screening programmes
  • The changing role of the cytologist in diagnostic medicine
  • Cell blocks - the interface between cytology and histopathology
  • Molecular Pathology on cytology samples
  • Is there a continuing role for Cytology in Breast Cancer Screening in the future

A particularly appealing aspect of this Congress is the programme of 32 workshops, each led by an international specialist.  The workshops cover all aspects of cytology and are available to all delegates for £50.00 per workshop.  CLICK HERE to find out more about the workshop programme.

Continuing Professional Development

The IAC will be awarding 32 further education points for full cytotechnologist registration (CMIAC, CT(IAC), CT(IAC-GYN) and a further 2 points for each workshop attended.

RCPath members must remember to sign in every day to claim CPD credits as these vary from day to day.  Additional credits are awarded for attending workshops.

Please find below a copy of the provisional programme, alternatively CLICK HERE to download it. Please note the programme is subject to change.
